Planted by foresters, sown by jays
After weeks of drought, the rain returned and the air smelled of autumn. A bus ride out of Budapest took REAL School students up Hármashatár-hegy, the Hill of Three Borders, to walk a forest replanted a century ago by forester Károly Guckler. Along the way, the children watched jays hiding acorns and learned how forgotten acorns become new trees. Week one of the REAL regeneration programme.
